Knit "Melt the ICE Hats"

Once again, knitters are being called upon to knit for the resistance.  In 2016, it was Pussy hats.  Now, with the awful mess with ICE in Minneapolis and the 2 poor souls who were executed, we are called on once again to knit hats as a resistance symbol. This time it is Melt the ICE Hats. 

In the 1940's Norwegians made and wore these red, pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country.

Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. If you are interested in knitting one (or more) of these hats, the pattern is available to download for $5 at  https://payhip.com/b/TqQL1.  All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to local immigrant aid organizations who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE.
