Walk Around The Block

Walk for Truth...Walk for Justice...

The Truth and Justice Committee of the Dorset Church is inviting all interested congregants and friends to join us after Sunday service at 11am on November 16th as we “Walk around the Block” for our freedoms.

All generations are welcome to come together in solidarity to raise awareness of the importance of our First Amendment rights of freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom to peaceably assemble.

Our plan will be shared with the other congregations in the Interfaith Council, with the hope that some may choose to walk at their sites in solidarity. The bells of the Dorset Church, and possibly others, will be ringing as we begin our walk.

We plan to make the local press aware in order to raise awareness of local acts of hope and justice.

The walk in Dorset will be less than a mile and will take place on sidewalks. We will head out from the Dorset Church towards the Dorset Union Store and take a right on Rte 30 towards The Dorset Bakery. We will cross Rte 30 at the crosswalk by the Post Office, briefly head North on Rte 30 and cross again in front of The Dorset Inn. The final crossing on Church street in front of the Field Club brings us back to our church.

Please let our Church Administrator Kimberly Perkins know if you need assistance with a walk of this length and we will work to arrange for wheelchairs for any in need.  Stay tuned for more details.
